BCI-All Returning Players Only
As you are aware the NWCAA for the 2019/20 season entered into an agreement with the Benson Concussion Institute (BCI) to pre-screen and manage concussions experienced during the season. For the reason that the safety of our players in paramount. The relationship and results have exceeded expectations and will continue for the 2020/21 season so all NWCAA players will be required to have a concussion baseline test completed. As such and working closely with BCI, we would like all potential returning NWCAA players to have their concussion baseline testing done prior to evaluations and the 2020/21 season. Please note this is not immediate acceptance to a NWCAA team, merely a preplanned process to avoid potential backlogs of concussion baseline testing in September. All returning NWCAA players must still compete for a roster position.
To have your pre-season concussion baseline test completed please contact the BCI Concussion Coordinator (Madeline Cosh) at 587-830-2240 to arrange a baseline appointment (see attachment for additional information). BCI has a tracking sheet by the NWCAA 2019/20 teams and we’ll be tracking compliance and sending out reminders.
