The NWCAA presents a number of scholarships alone and in conjunction with important sponsors each year to successful candidates. In order to qualify for an NWCAA Scholarship you must meet the following criteria:
- Enrollment at a University, College or Technical Institution (course load should represent at least 75% of a full time student)
- Played hockey for the NWCAA in the current year and who have previously participated as a player for a minimum of two years with the NWCAA, previously played as a player for a minimum of two years with the NWCAA and have played for an Educational Institution or Junior A and/or be an NWCAA Coach, First or Second assistant during the current season.
- Able to provide letters of reference from your current coach and a current instructor from one of your post secondary courses
In order to qualify for a potential award you must complete and sign the official NWCAA Scholarship Application Form along with verification of enrollment in a post secondary institution that includes your academic standing and two letters of reference (including one from your current Hockey Coach).

Michael Gee Scholarship Award Fund
Established in honor and loving memory of Michael Gee our teammate, player, and friend who passed away suddenly April 8, 2005 playing the game he loved. All donations to this fund are to be made to the Calgary Foundation, the fund manager. Donations can be made by either cheque, cash or credit card to the Calgary Foundation with an accompanying letter or note indicating the monies be directed to the Michael Gee Scholarship Award Fund. (Cheques are to be made payable to the Calgary Foundation). A tax receipt for the donation will be issued by the foundation. Donations are appreciated at any time.
To apply for the Michael Gee Scholarship Fund Award you must apply directly to the Calgary Foundation.
Eligible hockey players apply on line, requesting their coach to upload the nomination letter. Nominated by his coach as most deserving player on the team. The player must be a Calgary resident playing hockey in Midget boys AA, AAA (Major), 16 – 18 years old.
A student who has achieved a minimum of 82.5% in his educational institution. The award is paid to the post-secondary institution of the recipient’s choice.
